This documentary tries to answer that question by painting a psycholog- ical portrait of Koresh, the leader of the Branch Davidians religious sect whose Waco, Texas, com- pound was destroyed in a 1993 fire, killing 76 of its members, including Koresh. Via previously never-before broadcast audio and rare video footage, viewers hear from Koresh himself as well as first-person accounts from nine surviving members of the sect, including Marc Breault; Heather Burson, and Kathryn Schroeder, who was one of Koresh's wives and the only female member to be charged and imprisoned after the fiery tragedy. MONDAY Family Food Showdown [Culinary Show] 8.40pm on Food Network (Channel 353) "Family Food Showdown" sees Valerie Bertinelli oversee a pair of competing families in a fast- paced, action-packed culinary competition that unfolds over three rounds of challenges. After a woman kills a home invasion robber in self-defence, his vengeful girl- friend befriends her at a crime victim support group and sets about trying to destroy her life. Starring Inga Cadranel and Rick Roberts. FRIDAY Last Days of the Nazis [Documentary] 10pm on History (Channel 412) Last Days of the Nazis is a story that's rarely been broadcast on television before. This is a dark and compelling history of Nazism from a different perspective – that of the Nazis themselves. In 1945, the Allies rounded up and interrogated thousands of ex-Na- zis. The interrogations became a fascinating, but largely forgotten, part of the historical record. 'The Last Days of the Nazis' uses these interrogations to dramati- cally bring to life accounts by Nazi death camp commandants, Nazi doctors, generals, architects, and members of the Hitler Youth. SATURDAY Lock N' Load – Double Episode [Documentary] 8pm on History (Channel 412) Actor and Vietnam veteran R. Lee Ermey guides viewers through the evolution of the deadliest battlefield weapons, with 3-D graphics detailing the improvements, changes in technology and the thought process behind each weapon. Comrade Detective Amazon Prime In the thick of 1980s Cold War hysteria, the Romanian government created "Comrade Detective" to help promote Communist ideals and inspire a deep sense of nationalism in the country's residents. In the gritty police drama, detectives Gregor Anghel and Iosef Baciu investigate the murder of a fellow officer and, in the process, unravel a plot to destroy their country. Fueling that conspiracy is Romania's greatest enemy – capitalism. The series was forgotten about after the fall of the Berlin Wall, but it has been rediscovered and digitally remastered.
