GO is launching this radio competition, where five indi- viduals will win a GRID pack- age worth €1500. This 360 package is offering these lucky individuals all that is needed to get them 'GRID ready' and well set on a path for a health- ier lifestyle. The package in- cludes a four-month training programme for the GRID by professional coaches, nutri- tional help, gym membership for three months at the Re- flex Total Fitness in Attard or Sliema, Dr Juice meals to help boost training, a training kit, participation fee for The GRID and appointments with sports doctors. HSBC Malta's successful cam- paign linking the planting of a tree for every download of the new mobile banking app has led to Nature Trust Malta planting its first 100 trees at Chadwick Lakes. The bank has pledged the do- nation of 2,000 trees which will be planted during 2020. Launched last October, the new app which is available to download for free from the App Store and Google Play of- fers a simpler login, is easier to use and offers the ability to transfer money to third-parties without the use of the Secure Key. Using the latest in encryp- tion technology, the app allows users to view account details and balances and to see their transfer history. Users can also transfer be- tween their own accounts, pay a third-party account with HSBC Malta, pay a third-par- ty account within the Single Euro Payments Area and make payments to companies. For third-party transactions the payees must first be set up through the bank's personal internet banking platform. 2,000 trees to be planted thanks to successful HSBC mobile app campaign The bank has pledged the donation of 2,000 trees which will be planted during 2020 PKF Malta has raised over €5,000 during its annual client reception and Art Exhibition held recently through the sale of 18 paintings donated by various local and international artists. The sale of the paintings went to the ALS Malta Foundation. This was the third edition of PKF Malta's annual Art Exhi- bition in aid of ALS Malta, and over the past years the total amount raised surpassed the €20,000 mark. The goal of the ALS Malta Foundation is to raise aware- ness and offer support to ALS and MND sufferers in Mal- ta and Gozo. Spearheaded by Bjorn Formosa, it serves as a community to give support and palliative care & help re- search. Whilst addressing the at- tendees of the event, PKF Mal- ta's Partner Pierre Mangion thanked everyone, in particu- lar the artists who contributed with their works of art for this cause, as well as the clients and partners who purchased the paintings. Paintings sold and over €5,000 raised in PKF Malta's art exhibition for ALS Malta Foundation THE National STEM Career Expo has kicked off at Esplo- ra, Interactive Science Cen- tre, Kalkara with a number of schoolchildren in Years 4, 5 & 6 (late primary) who attended in collaboration with the National School Support Services within the Ministry for Education and Employment (MEDE). The Expo is being held as part of a tripartite initiative between the Malta Council for Science & Technology (MCST), the University of Malta (UM) and the Malta College of Arts, Sci- ence & Technology (MCAST) with the support of MEDE. The Expo will be open for school visits from Tuesday to Friday from 9am until 1pm, and for the general public on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th January from 10am until 6pm. According to The Future of Jobs report compiled by the World Economic Forum, 65 % of the jobs our children will do will be new careers. Most will be STEM-related. Beyond this soaring demand for profession- als, STEM subjects are also es- sential for children and young people to develop crucial life skills such as solving problems, evaluating data and thinking creatively. Further to the National STEM engagement conference which was held last May, a col- lective STEM Engagement Po- sition Paper was presented by the three entities. The position paper presented a recommen- dation for a STEM Working Group to push forward the co- hesive ideas presented in the tripartite proposal as well as the development of a consoli- dated Malta Science Commu- nication Strategy.
