The majority of Satur- day's cases were contacts from previously reported cases and two cases were imported. Most of the new cases are aged under 35, with one case being 80 years old. Three of the new cas- es were detected in immi- grants who were already in quarantine. The rise in COVID-19 cases comes amid threats of industrial action from doctors and nurses unions, which were yesterday tem- porarily suspended after mass events were cancelled and new precautionary measures introduced by the Public Health Superintend- ence. PGS 14-15 €1.95 KARL AZZOPARDI THE Nationalist Party's coun- cillors yesterday voted to kick- start a new leadership election among all paid-up members. Opposition leader Adrian Delia lost the vote in which he hoped councillors would allow him to stand in a one- horse race where members would have to renew their confidence in his leadership. But at 839 votes (55.6%) to 659 who voted for Delia's confidence motion, it was clear that Delia had suffered a third loss of confidence after first his MPs, then the party executive voted against him in the previous month. Adrian Delia will run again in a new leadership race that will be determined by party members. Photo: James Bianchi
