THE government has
been given the green
light to offer millions in
state aid to the Gozo fast
ferry operators, Busi-
nessToday has learned.
But sources in the trans-
port industry have ex-
pressed disbelief that the
Commission would sanc-
tion state aid to two com-
peting companies within
a market that clearly does
not merit two operators,
more so when these are
competing against a reg-
ular ferry service, oper-
ated by Gozo Channel, a
state-owned company.
