AFTER hosting last Saturday
the Gozo Visual and Performing
Arts School Ensemble for the
first of three lunchtime concerts
on three consecutive Satur-
days at Il-Ħaġar, this Saturday,
13th December, at 11.30am
welcomes the BrassTubes En-
semble in bringing the festive
sound of brass right to us.
LED by conductor Mark Gauci,
BrassTubes will perform a se-
lection of some of the greatest
Christmas melodies synony-
mous with this time of year.
The following Saturday, 20th
December, at 11.30am the Lau-
date Pueri Choir of St George's
Basilica, directed by George Jo-
seph Frendo and led by Maria
Frendo, will maintain its an-
nual tradition of the Saturday
before Christmas of presenting
a concert featuring some of the
best-loved Christmas carols in
various languages.
Most of the carols and motets
have been arranged by David
Willcocks and Joseph Vella for
four female voices, with the lat-
ter's arrangements specifical-
ly made for the Laudate Pueri
Choir.
Both lunchtime concerts take
place at Il-Ħaġar Museum. Ad-
mission is free.
