7 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 12 DECEMBER 2025 CULTURE Festive events draw crowds in Nadur THE festive season in Gozo kicked off with the Joy to the World – Flimkien għal Milied Ferrieħi event in Nadur, at- tracting families and children to the vil- lage for a full programme of activities. The event is part of the wider Milied f'Għawdex initiative celebrating Christ- mas across the island. Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, visit- ed the Nadur activities, which included a Christmas Parade along Triq Diċembru 13 featuring dancing, singing, Christmas characters, and the appearance of Santa and Mrs Claus. Following the parade, the square hosted a grand finale with entertainment, games, festive food and drinks, and the opening of Santa's House and a Toy Shop. Children and families had the chance to meet Santa and take photographs, while a newly inaugurated chapel displayed a traditional nativity crib crafted with skill and devotion, re- flecting Maltese cultural heritage. Meanwhile, in Għajnsielem, a 60-foot Christmas tree made from 4,500 glass bottles was officially lit, adding to the series of festive activities taking place across Gozo. Minister Camilleri said the ministry continues to support such events, which provide both entertain- ment for residents and an attraction for visitors during the holiday season. "Through our work, we aim to keep Gozo dressed in Christmas spirit and ensure a memorable experience for all who visit. These events are about bringing joy to families while highlighting our island's culture and traditions," Camilleri said. The events combined live music, choirs, bands, dance performances, games, crafts, and festive refreshments, offering a varied programme for the local com- munity and tourists alike.
