GĦAJNSIELEM may- or Kevin Cauchi has warned that a floating entertain- ment platform operating near Comino could set a precedent for similar ventures along the island's coastline, as the local council formally objected to proposed permits linked to the Noma Island project. Speaking to GozoToday, Cauchi said the development r a i s e s w i d e r concerns beyond a single oper- ation, arguing it "opens the possi- bility for other entrepreneurs to see the idea and set up their own party boat on the coast of Comino". He added that the local coun- cil has not been provided with clear information about the operation, including how long it is expected to remain in the area. "We have no informa- tion, regarding how long it will be there. All our information comes from the media," he said. The mayor said the coun- cil has contacted all relevant authorities that could be con- nected to the project but has received no response. He also noted that no reply has been from the government.
