6 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 10 APRIL 2026 NEWS IZIBINGO opens 200 seater in Gozo ON 5 April 2026, a 200 plus seater IZIBINGO hall openned in Rabat, Gozo. This will bring the first-of-its kind bingo hall to Gozo, creating a new entertain- ment destination for the island. The new Bingo Hall marks an important milestone in the de- velopment of land-based gam- ing in Gozo. For the first time, players will be able to enjoy the benefits of a purposely designed bingo venue offering a consist- ent programme of daily sessions in a welcoming and fun environ- ment. Located in the heart of Victo- ria (Rabat), adjacent to the bus terminus, the hall has been de- signed to combine the charm of traditional bingo with modern standards of comfort. Players can look forward to multiple ses- sions daily, attractive prize pools and special games throughout the week, ensuring there is al- ways a lot of excitement to look forward to. Bingo has long held a special place in Gozitan and Maltese social culture, bringing together communities in an atmosphere of fun, anticipation and camara- derie. The introduction of a ded- icated hall in Gozo strengthens this tradition, offering a fun and structured setting where play- ers can meet friends, socialise and enjoy quality entertainment close to home. IZIBINGO offers a place where people from all walks of life can gather, enjoy the excitement of bingo and share memorable moments together, creating a social scene, blending tradition, innovation and com- munity under one roof. IZIBINGO hall launching on Easter Sunday The hall will be officially opened on Sunday 5 April 2026 with a first series of games start- ing at 3pm. The launch is expect- ed to create a new vibe around the game of Bingo in Gozo as a destination that blends tradition with a new form of excitement. On the opening night a special programme will be offered to visitors including doubling of all game prizes with guaranteed jackpots of €3,000 on the night. To celebrate the grand open- ing on this traditional holiday, IZIBINGO is also giving a free figolla to the first 250 players who purchase a full pack, which includes ten full game tickets and two ID DOPPJA game tick- ets. The IZIBINGO Hall will oper- ate a weekly schedule with Friday morning sessions, coffee morn- ing style, starting at 10am, and an evening weekday programme starting at 7pm. Weekends at IZIBINGO provide a new level of excitement, with guaranteed prizes of €2,000. The weekend programme starts every Satur- day at 5pm and on Sundays from 13pm. Play Responsibly Gozo to host BOV Challenge Cup semi-finals for first time GOZO will host the semi-finals of the BOV Challenge Cup for the first time on April 25 and 26, following a collaboration between the Ministry for Gozo and Plan- ning, the Malta Football Associa- tion and the Gozo Football Asso- ciation. The matches will be played at the Gozo Stadium, marking a milestone aimed at expanding competitive opportunities for Gozitan teams and increasing their exposure against Maltese sides. Speaking about the initiative, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri said the collaboration is intend- ed to strengthen opportunities for local teams while offering a platform for Gozitan players to showcase their talent. He added that the event also provides an additional spectacle for football enthusiasts. This season, seven Gozitan teams competing in the Gozo First Division made their debut in the tournament, joining 16 teams from the Challenge League. The competition has so far been close- ly contested, with two Gozitan and two Maltese teams qualifying for the semi-finals. Camilleri encouraged support- ers from both Gozo and Malta to attend the matches and help create a strong atmosphere at the stadium. He also thanked the Malta Foot- ball Association for organising the tournament and proposing the integration of Gozitan teams, as well as the Gozo Football Asso- ciation for its ongoing collabora- tion in hosting matches and com- petitions at the Gozo Stadium. The semi-finals form part of a wider schedule of football activity in Gozo, which will also include Malta Premier League matches and several youth friendlies in the coming weeks. The minister highlighted on- going efforts to promote sports tourism, noting upcoming events such as the Gozo Marathon and the Xterra World Championship, both of which attract local and in- ternational participants and con- tribute to promoting the island as a sports destination.
