IN the competitive world of re- tail, the phrase "value" is often as- sociated with the price on a shelf. But for Lidl Malta, "More to Val- ue" is more than just a tagline for customers; it is a promise kept to every single member of the team. As the islands' leading discount supermarket, Lidl is proving that staying at the top requires a deep, consistent investment in the peo- ple who power the brand. THIS commitment is brought to life through a suite of benefits de- signed to ensure that employees at every stage of their lives — and every step of their careers — feel the tangible impact of being part of the team. A new benchmark for recogni- tion: A €500 annual benefit Lidl Malta believes that true ap- preciation must be tangible. In a direct response to the needs of its growing workforce, the compa- ny has introduced a revamped Annual Employee Benefit in- creasing the distribution of yearly Lidl vouchers to €500. This newly enhanced invest- ment is strategically distribut- ed in installments throughout the year, ensuring that the team feels the company's gratitude consistently. This initiative represents a fresh milestone in the company's reward strategy, offering direct and practical ap- preciation for the team's unwa- vering dedication. This commitment to the team's security is further strengthened by the provision of Free Private Health Insur- ance for all employees following their probation period. By en- suring that every team member has access to top-tier medical support, the company reinforc- es its belief that the health and peace of mind of its staff are fundamental to its collective success. Supporting the journey: From early parenthood to academic success Lidl Malta is dedicated to be- ing there for its people through every life milestone. From wel- coming new family members with New Parents' Gift Packs to supporting the next gener- ation through the "Lidl for the Future" initiative, the company invests in the extended family. This commitment includes fi- nancial assistance for children entering post-secondary edu- cation — specifically through the Pathway to 6th Form refund scheme — and academic bonus- es based on excellence for both children and employees pursu- ing their own university studies. The company further champi- ons the "Freedom to Flourish" by offering Sabbatical Leave for long-serving team members to recharge, alongside flexi- ble work options for Head Of- fice roles that ensure a healthy work-life balance remains at the core of the company culture. A career path with no limits Ultimately, "More to Value" is about providing a path to the top. Many of Lidl Malta's cur- rent leaders began their journey on the shop floor, proving that with the right support, there are no limits to what can be achieved. This award recognises students who achieved remarkable grades, including 'A' grades in at least 80 credits, during the first two years of their course. The students were presented with a commemorative certificate and a monetary grant by the Bank. Congratulating the students on behalf of Bank of Valletta, Charles Azzopardi, Head of CSR, Events & Business Alliances, said that it is an honour for the Bank to have supported this award ceremony continuously since its beginning. He added, "Our long standing support of the Dean's List Awards reflects the Bank's continued commitment to education and excellence. Through initiatives such as this sponsorship, the Bank continues to contribute meaningfully to the communities we serve." Presenting the students, Pro- fessor Dominic Fenech, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, explained how the demanding criteria meant that only truly outstanding students could make it into the list. Noting that students were not compet- ing with each other, but satisfy- ing a set of objective criteria, he observed that the number of stu- dents qualified to join the List had grown over the years, which was an indication of the quality of the Faculty's students. He also noted that the geographical distribution of the students' addresses indicat- ed that the best students did not necessarily come from the more reputedly prosperous areas. The students qualified to join the Dean's List 2026 are: • David Attard - B.A. English and Maltese • Lucienne Romina Binot - B.A. Communication Stud- ies and Psychology • Hale Bonello - B.A. French and German • Estella Camilleri - B.A. Psy- chology and Sociology • Judy Cordina - B.A. Hon- ours Philosophy with Geog- raphy • Samuel Cedric Farrugia - B.A. Honours European and Global History with In- ternational Relations • Nina Galea - B.A. Honours History of Art with Psychol- ogy • Gaia Grima - B.A. Honours Fine Arts with History of Art • William Warren Levy - B.A. Honours European and Global History with Inter- national Relations • Catherine Limbada - B.A. Psychology and Sociology • Nathan Anthony Pace - B.A. Honours Maltese with Linguistics • Daria Ponomarova - B.A. Honours International Re- lations Student with Com- munication Studies • Marco Porsella Flores - B.A. Honours History with Hu- manities • Shaun Michael Portelli - B.A. Honours Music Stud- ies with French • Matthew Pulis - B.A. Hon- ours Philosophy with Psy- chology • Anneleize Emily Strauss - B.A. Honours International Relations with Communi- cation Studies • Adam John Vassallo - B.A. Honours European and Global History with Inter- national Relations • Maria Wróblewska - B.A. Honours History of Art with Psychology More than just a job: Why Lidl Malta is delivering 'more to value' for its people
