Members of Malta's national water polo team are facing sus- pensions of between three and four months after an investiga- tion by the Aquatics Integrity Unit (AQIU) found they had breached World Aquatics bet- ting rules. The AQIU has issued for- mal notices of charge to sev- eral athletes after concluding they violated Article 15.1(a) of the World Aquatics Integrity Code, which prohibits certain individuals, referred to as Cov- ered Persons, from betting on any aquatic events. The investigation, how- ever, found no evidence of match-fixing or manipulation.
