Malta coach Pietro Ghedin was hoping for a better result after Malta's dismal performance against the Czech Republic last Friday, but Denmark surely did not let this happen. Denmark took the lead on the 8th minute. Off a cross by Emil Larsen, Morten Rasmussen's first shot on goal was blocked by goalkeeper Justin Haber, but off the rebound, Rasmussen easily placed the ball at the back of the net. Denmark kept pressing and on the 11th minute they managed to make it 2-0 thanks to a penalty. John Mintoff brought Michael Krohn-Dehli down inside the area and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Daniel Agger converted to double the lead for his team. On the 28th minute, Denmark made it 3-0 when off a cross, a unmarked Andreas Bjelland headed the ball in goal. Malta had a chance on goal on the 36th minute when a Clayton Failla had his powerful shot turned into a corner by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. Three minutes later, Denmark were awarded another penalty. Daniel Agger again made no mistake from the penalty spot to make the score 4-0. A great save by Haber at the end of the first half when he denied Ramussen who had a shot from close range. On the 74th minute, Demark would not slow down as they scored their fifth of the night. A shot by Kasper Kusk was blocked by goalkeeper Justin Haber and off the rebound Michael Krohn Dehli shot towards goal with Morten deflecting the ball into goal. The sixth goal arrived by substitute Nicki Belle on the 83rd minute. Off a pass by Krohn-Dehli, Nicki Belle easily scored when he beat Haber with his shot.
