The commit- tee regularly organises entertaining events for staff and their families, in an effort to bring employees together outside of the office. As one of the oldest and most sto- ried cities on our island, Birgu was home to quite a few bloody and ma- cabre episodes in Malta's history. A chilling wind blew as the team lis- tened to tales of brutal scare tactics that were used by both sides during the Great Siege, of the horrors that took place for those unlucky enough to be summoned to the Inquisitor's Palace, and of course the fabled Grey Lady, the tragic victim of forlorn love and infidelity whose tattered skirt is still sometimes heard rustling in the dark chambers and passageways of Fort St Elmo. The tour, given by Joan Sheridan from Malta Tour Guide, was fol- lowed by hearty food and drink to shake off the frightful shivers, even though no ghosts were, in actual fact, spotted. "The mix of spook sto- ries and historical information made it a night to remember, giving Birgu a hauntingly beautiful charm!" said Leo Busuttil from the Sports and So- cial Committee. New Laser-tag attraction opens at Bay Street A brand new Laser-tag attraction has just opened within Delta 4, the family entertainment centre on level 4 at Bay Street Complex, St Julian's. Lasermaxx is a fun, safe interac- tive game suitable for both indi- viduals and teams aged 7 years up- wards, and can host up to 21 players in up to six teams at any one time. Each game lasts an average of 15 minutes. The Sci-fi activity provides high adrenalin entertainment within an elaborate space themed maze, and features characters from Star Wars. "Lasermaxx is a great team bond- ing experience," said a spokesman for the entertainment company. "We are expecting a big demand, so it is advisable to book to avoid waiting and disappointment. Party packages and gift cards are also available." Each player is equipped with a la- ser vest and phaser and receives a scorecard with their individual and team scores, ranking, game type, shots fired, accuracy, shots hit and shots received. More enhancements are due to follow with a number of Star Wars surprises in store.
