Montebello issued the statement in a letter signed by lawyer Stefano Filletti. Making reference to "various arti- cles and comments published in the media and newspapers", Montebello categorically denied all allegations that may have been made in his re- gard and declares for the last time that he has "no further comment to add to what has already been said." Casino adjudication 'reverse engineered' DRAGONARA Gaming says ad- judication process was designed in a way to ensure that rival bidders Eden Leisure get casino concession The casino concession saga con- tinued yesterday with the company which was ranked as the second concessionaire insisting that the outcome was predetermined before the adjudication process had even started. The Eden Leisure Group were se- lected as the preferred bidder. Dragonara Gaming filed a protest in court in which it explained that the decision to award a casino con- cession to Eden Leisure was "reverse engineered" and the selection proc- ess was littered with administrative flaws. Moreover, Dragonara, who already operate a casino in St Julian's, in- sisted that although the administra- tive shortcomings alone were reason enough to block the process, "the se- lection process was also character- ised by an abuse of power, because it was designed and led in a way to achieve a goal which the law euphe- mistically describes as "inappropri- ate."
