The survey shows that while 83% have a Christmas tree at home, 82% have a statuette of baby Jesus. Only 65% have a crib while 34% have other decorations like Santa Claus, mistletoe and stars. The Christmas tree is the absolute favourite for 18 to 34 year olds, 96% of whom have a tree at home. Statues and figurines of the baby Je- sus are most common among over 55 year olds. Among the latter while 65% have a Christmas tree, 83% have a baby Jesus at home. The crib is more popular among under-35 year olds where it is as popular as the baby Jesus (78%). Only 3.4% of respondents do not have any Christmas decorations at home. The survey shows that turkey remains the most popular dish among those who cook at home at Christmas (32%) followed by pork (23%), lamb (11%), chicken (10%), capon (7%) and rabbit (7%). The survey shows a six point drop in the con- sumption of turkey and an eight point rise in the consumption of pork since 2008. The survey shows that a third of respondents (32%) will be eating their Christmas lunch at the home of other family members or friends while 20% will have guests at home. 19% will be having their lunch in a hotel or restaurant. 2% will be alone on Christmas day and 3% will be working.
