Events 26 maltatoday, Sunday, 8 February 2015 Malta's promising young golfers and members of the Royal Malta Golf Club Junior Academy enjoyed an end of year competition last December, which culminated in a fun Christmas party. The principal goal of the Academy is the promotion of the game of golf. The main aim is to provide a fun induction followed by preparing the young golf- ers to reach their first sporting objec- tive by obtaining a gold handicap and to specialize in this sport. By implementing the global product and brand strategy on all continents, KTM once again increased both sales and revenue and achieved a record year in 2014, for the fourth time in a row, making KTM the fastest growing motorcy- cle brand in the world for years. In business year 2014, 158,760 bikes of the group brands KTM and Husqvarna could be sold world- wide and therefore sales increased by 28.2% compared to the previous year. Revenue could be increased by 20.7% to €864.6 million within the same period. Besides revenue and sales, KTM could also increase its result sig- nificantly. With an expected EBIT of more than €75 milion, KTM achieved another record result in business year 2014. In 2014, KTM invested around €85 million in Mattighofen and Mun- derfing, which means an increase by 46.6% compared to business year 2013, and therefore further expand- ed the Austrian location. At year-end, 2,143 people were employed at KTM group worldwide, meaning a record employment. In business year 2014, headcount was increased by 294 people, thereof 182 new employees only in Austria.
