maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 18 FEBRUARY 2015 Sport 23 AFTER a two hour delay due to rain the game finally got underway with the Bees batting first. The ground still being wet did not make making runs easy and a low scoring game was on. The Bees managed to total 124 runs from their overs. There were twenty three extras which showed how hard it was to make runs of the bat. Matt McKeogh managed to retire after thirty balls and top scored with twenty four runs which included three boundaries. Paul Bradley made twenty two runs and two batsmen Frank Spiteri and Tim Wheeler both made thirteen runs each. Joy Ghose- roy just managed to make it into dou- ble figures while the others struggled with the conditions. For the Magpies wickets were shared among, Ron- nie Saco, Sarfraz Ali, Sumair Khan, Andrew Naudi, Haroon Majeed and Sam Aquilina. It was also great to see Zack Borg Ginger from the juniors involved in two run outs. The Magpies needed to win to book a place in the Grand Final in two weeks time, Unfortunately they were bowled out for 107 runs. Ronnie Sacco top scored with twenty nine runs, Haroon Majeed made nineteen and Mark G.Sacco thirteen as the higher scorers. Extras were twenty one. Frank Spiteri usually known for his devastating batting , took four wickets, simply by bowling straight and the ball skidding on of the pitch. Derek Ali , Tim Wheeler and Joy Ghoseroy took a wicket each. The Bees took fourteen points from the win and have booked their place in the Grand Final. The Mag- pies took one point and will have to wait for next weeks result between the Bees and The Krishna Kobras. If the Bees win then the Magpies are in, if not they will not be playing for a couple of weeks. Last Sunday the National team played a friendly against "The Rest" in preparation for the June Tourna- ment in Prague. The National team batted first with two solid innings , one from the Captain Nowell Khosla who scored sixty five runs and the other from Derek Ali who made forty not out. They scored 155 runs which proved too much for The Rest who made eighty runs all out. Adam Krishna and Ronnie Sacco took two wickets each while four other bowlers took a wicket each. The release comes ahead of a meeting of the Formula 1 Com- mission in Geneva on Tuesday, where there will be further talks over the future direction of the sport. Team and technical chiefs have spent the past few months dis- cussing a range of potential rule changes, including a return to 1000hp engines, wider tyres and more downforce. There is also debate over wheth- er a prospective overhaul should be pushed through for 2016, or de- layed until 2017 – to conduct re- search and gather fans' opinions. Ferrari's concept, posted on its official website, offers a radical example of the modifications that could be carried out, if the teams are given the freedom to do so. The car features a double-decker front wing, dramatic bodywork and a wide, flat rear wing.
