Featuring the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Denise Mulholland and conducted by Philip Walsh. Soloists include: Adina - Madina Karbeli / Shoushik Barsoumian, Nemorino - Cliff Zammit Stevens / Matteo Mezzaro, Belcore - Philippe-Nicolas Martin / Valdis Jansons, Dulcamara - Emilio Marcucci / Luciano Miotto and Giannetta - Francesca Aquilina / Rosabelle Bianchi. MARCH 13 The Areola Treat live The alternative rock band Areola Treat will be performing at Razzett l-Ahmar, Mosta at 21:30. The 90-minute gig will feature six new songs from the quartet. Entrance is at €7. MARCH 13-15, 21 Danusan Live Xow Performance by the comedy duo at Cit y Theatre, Valletta at 20:30 on all nights except March 15, which will have a matinee at 16:00. MARCH 14 Riccardo Fogli and Hit Italy band Veteran Italian singer Riccardo Fogli will be performing with his band at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta at 20:30. Riccardo Fogli 's music has captured the hearts of millions of listeners. His music st yle consists mainly of ballads and pop songs with Italian lyrics. Riccardo won the Festival di Sanremo in 1982 with the song 'Storie di Tutti i Giorni ', the one many Maltese know by heart. MARCH 19 King's Own Band The King's Own Band in Valletta will be participating in the festivities celebrated in honour of St Joseph, organised by the Confraternit y of St Joseph of Rabat at 18:00. Band marches will be followed by a symphonic programme, under the baton of John Galea. MARCH 28 Ira Losco in concert Ira Losco will be performing at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta at 20:30. Featuring special guests Javier Zanetti and Irene Fargo. In aid of Pupi Foundation in collaboration with Brooks Brothers, Valletta Local Council and Inter Club Pupi Zanetti Malta. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL MARCH 6-27 Carmelo Mangion: Visions of a Maltese Master Exhibition of works by the inf luential late painter at Casino Maltese, Valletta. UNTIL MARCH 15 Afterselfie – beyond masks Collective exhibition at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Featuring works by Raphael Vella, Elisa Von Brockdorff, Adrian Abela, Ritty Tacsum, Goghi&Goghi collective, Gabriele Grones, Jacopo Dimastrogiovanni, Elia Nadie and Debora Fella. The idea behind Afterselfie was conceived at the 2014 edition of the Curatorial School at VIVA (the Valletta International Visual Art Festival), one of the Valletta 2018 Foundation's projects from its diverse Cultural Programme. Afterselfie is, first and foremost, a cultural exchange between Malta and Italy as a number of Maltese and Italian artists will be showcasing their work in both countries. After being displayed at St James Cavalier, the exhibition will then move to Palazzo Trentini in Trento, Italy and will run from May 15 to 31. Featuring works by Bernice Buhagiar, Charlene Calleja, Sean Camilleri, Karen Caruana, Matthew Cassar, Luca Cauchi, Joe Chetcuti, Jessica Debattista, Glenn Ellul, Sara Ezabe, Anna Galea, Agatha Grima, Franco Navarro, Ray Piscopo, Marlon Polidano, Mark Schembri, Enrique` Tabone, Madeleine Gera, Mary Pitre` and Giovanna Castaldi. UNTIL APRIL 5 The Overlooked Performance Photography exhibition by Alex Attard at St James Cavalier, Valletta, presenting itself as a showcase of the ephemeral art beneath the face of Renzo Piano's new Parliament for Valletta.
