Vocal music (4) Bc1 f6 Nf5+ Kg6 Nd6+ f5 Bxf5+ mate Matthew Gauci wins ASMK Gozo Enduro LAST Sunday, events by Assocjazz- joni Sport Muturi u Karozzi were a part of a program launched by the Ministry for Gozo and Gozo Sports Board. The Association organised the fifth Enduro event sponsored by ASMK Pasta Poiatti 2014/15. This event was held in Quarry 'il-Barri- era tal-Ghansar l/o San Lawrenz in Gozo where 35 Maltese and Gozo competitors registered for this race. They were divided in three classes. A look at what happened during the day on the 3 kilometers circuit laid on pathways in the beautiful quarry and its surroundings. The 1st Run determines of the Pole Position for each competitor takes place and determines the list of competitors to start their particular timed runs. During the first Heat of the day for Class A motorcycles with cylin- der capacity up to 250cc it was Da- mon Bonello on his 250cc Suzuki who dominated this class when he clocked the best official time of 3 minutes 44.45 seconds. Damon was followed by Daniel Caruana on a Honda 250cc who registered his best time of 4 minutes 9.47 seconds. During the Second Heat Bonello continued to advance and proved his capabilities when he clocked 3 min- utes 27.05 seconds to secure the top award in this class. Joseph Scicluna on Honda 125cc won 2nd in Class A when he registered his best time of 3 minutes 30.53 seconds. Young Ber- nard Sammut on Yamaha 125cc won 3rd in Class with his best lap time of 3 minutes 37.85 seconds. Nigel Anastasi finished in fourth place on a KTM 250cc with his best time of 3 minutes 43.61 seconds. In Class B we saw an interesting battle for the lead between 16 com- petitors in this class. James Zahra on a Yamaha 250cc registered his best time of 3 minutes 16.50 seconds in his first Heat. James was followed by Matthew Gauci on a KTM 300cc who recorded his first best time of 3 minutes 27.67 seconds. The fight for the lead between these two com- petitors continued during the sec- ond Heat when Gauci and Zahra continued to improve their timings but Gauci registered his best time of 3 minutes 7.82 seconds which were 3.21 seconds better on Zahra's best time. This left Zahra to win second place with his best time of 3 minutes 11.03 seconds. Matthieu Salomon on KTM 530cc with his best time 3 minutes 21.32 seconds won third place and finished ahead of fourth placed Samuel Spiteri on a Honda 250cc with his best time of 3 min- utes 25.99 seconds. Class C is for riders on Trials bikes. Renato Mizzi on Beta 250cc won first place in this class with his best time of 4 minutes 4.04 seconds. Jos- mar Mizzi on a Gas Gas 250cc mo- torcycle placed 2nd in Class with his best time of 4 minutes 57.23 seconds. Both Mizzi's are Gozo competitors. Meanwhile ASMK would like to thank the quarry owners 'Ta' Muha' of Gozo and Family Apap. ASMK also have special thanks to the Min- ister for Gozo, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Research, Innova- tion, Youth and Sport and the Gozo Sports Board for being there to aid and support all ASMK events held in the island of Gozo. The Asso- ciation is already working for next October's Autocross event to be or- ganized in Gozo in October. More details soon. The next activities of the Associa- tion will continue on Friday 1 May 2015 (a Public Holiday) This will be the sixth championship event for the Trials section in the ASMK Pasta Poiatti National Trials Champion- ship. This Trials event starts at 09: 00am and will be held at the ASMK Sports Complex at Ta' Qali.
