15 WHAT'S ON MUSIC AUGUST 19 Live Jazz at Palazzo de Piro Due to popular demand Live Jazz Wednesdays in summer are back, featuring renowned jazz players in live trios and quartets who will deliver sterling sets of diversely faceted jazz material. AUGUST 21 Rooftop Jazz at Juliani On Fridays throughout the summer the boutique Hotel Juliani has opened its private rooftop terrace to the public for Rooftop Jazz at Juliani. Expect breath- taking views of Spinola Bay, live music, refreshing cocktails, and complimentary bar bites in a one- of-a-kind atmosphere. Music starts at 20:00. AUGUST 21 Cryptic Street Debut Ep Launch Alternative rock band Cryptic Street will be launching their debut EP at Palazzo De La Salle, Valletta at 19:30. AUGUST 21 Etnika – footnotes Newly reformed Maltese world music group Etnika will perform a comeback gig at Blue Box, M Space, Msida at 21:00. Bookings: www.bluebox.com.mt. AUGUST 28, 29 Bewildered Music Festival Alternative music festival at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta at 20:00. Featuring Indie/Dreamy pop band BIG DEAL, Italian/London based shoegaze outfit Leave The Planet, Metaphysical rock band Plato's Dream Machine, Alternative- Rock band Fastidju, Maltese/ Berlin based electronic musician Jim Hickey, and Dark Electronic/ Dream trio CHINA. Doors open at 19:00. First act starts at 20:00. Last act finishes at 23:00. August 28 lineup: Jim Hickey, Plato's Dream Machine, Leave The Planet. August 29 lineup: CHINA, Fastidju, BIG DEAL. SEPTEMBER 4 Cliff Zammit Stevens Concert with MPO Tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens will perform at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta at 20:00. Also featuring guest soprano Hannah Sandison, who will be performing duets with Cliff. LITERATURE AUGUST 20 Lejliet Letterarji – Nadia Mifsud Author Nadia Mifsud will read her own works at Bondo Nyah in Marsascala. Event is free of charge and begins at 20:00. AUGUST 25-27 Kelma Kelma Nota Nota A series of three concerts that combine traditional and contemporary music and Maltese literature, with the participation of the Big Band Brothers, Ray Calleja and Kelma Kelma. The event begins at 21:00 at Pjazza Teatru Rjal. Admissions are €15, concessions at €10 and block tickets for all three evenings at €30. MISCELLANEOUS AUGUST 20 Holi Pow Colour Festival 2015 A party aimed at fostering equality and tolerance, this event promises an unforgettable evening of colour and music at Armier Bay. DJ Sanh SA, Joshanty and Ak Zaeta will be bringing the beats and participants are asked to wear a white t-shirt. Entrance at the door is €25 or €30 for the colour package. Event begins at 14:00. AUGUST 21 FAA Musical Summer Party Environmental NGO Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar organise a musical summer party on Friday 21 August at Villa Mekrech, Għaxaq. This privately-owned Baroque villa has a garden which is being opened to the public for the first time in recognition of FAA's ongoing campaign to save the garden from development. Admission fee: FAA members €38, non-members €40. Proceeds will go towards the costs of FAA's campaign to save Villa Mekrech gardens.
