maltatoday, SUNDAY, 8 NOVEMBER 2015 This Week 41 Beethoven and Schubert at the Manoel THE second of the 'Wednesdays at the Manoel' series continues with a recital of works by Beethoven and Schubert per- formed by Bar-to-Bar Trio on Novem- ber 11 at 20:00 with a pre-concert talk at 19:15. Bar-to-Bar trio is an off-shoot of Bar- to-Bar Quintet which consists of mem- bers of the Malta Philharmonic Orches- tra who are passionate about chamber music and relish every opportunity to perform in this more intimate forma- tion. The trio is made up of violinist Klara Nazaj, pianist Joanne Camilleri and cellist Akos Kertesz. Throughout their individual careers, the musicians have collaborated with many renowned orchestras around the world including the World Philharmon- ic Orchestra, New Century Baroque Or- chestra, Orquesta de Extremadura, Val- letta International Baroque Ensemble, Orquesta do Algarve, Orquesta de Gran Canaria, Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Hungarian State Opera, Hyogo Perform- ing Arts Centre Orchestra, Limburgs Symfonie Orkest, and Het Residentie Orkest. On top of their busy schedule, they are also active as soloists, perform- ing a range of works from the Baroque to the Contemporary repertoire both in Malta and around Europe. All musicians have several recordings in their various capacities to their credit. The full programme includes Beethoven's Trio Op.97, Archduke and Schubert's Trio Op.100. The play is based on the book 'Bang goes Christmas' written by James Walter Blakely. This will also mark BeeSmart's third year anniversary. Throughout the year, BeeS- mart childcare centre raised more than €1,300 towards Puttinu Cares. The sum was collected through a range of activities and events held at the centre including Valen- tine's Bake Sale, Easter Fun Fair and Market, a Bingo Ses- sion, Green Day, Ice-Cream Day, Parent and Child Craft Project, Baguette Day and much more. The Christmas Panto will be the last fund raising activity for 2015.
