MARCH 27 Vivaldi's The Four Seasons Concert in aid of brain research at St Publius Church, Floriana at 19:30. Featuring internationally acclaimed Maltese violinist Carmine Lauri under the direction of Michael Laus. This special performance is being held in aid of brain research and organised by the University of Malta Research Trust (RIDT) in collaboration with the Malta Neuroscience Network. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL APRIL 10 Soar – Anatomy in Motion This installation is the culmination of a five-year long project by physician Charles Paul Azzopardi, where the display of a corpus of 44 photographic prints is based on the practice of dance, photography and original writing. Gallery f loor talks with the artists: Saturday 19 March 16:00 and 18:00. UNTIL APRIL 6 Sensory Apparatus Collective exhibition by the artist in residence at Blitz, St Lucy Street, Valletta. Featuring work by Bonamy Devas, Libby Heaney and Anna Ridler. Comprising a three-room installation and education room, Sensory Apparatus is a collaborative, interdisciplinary installation, making visible the incessant f low of data we constantly and often unknowingly create, bringing into question our perception of how technology shapes the apparently 'optimised' society we live in. UNTIL MARCH 30 The Invisible, Visible Collective exhibition of paintings by Sara Pace and Xaxa Calleja at Fortress Builders, St Mark Street, Valletta at 19:30. EASTER EVENTS TODAY AND MARCH 24, 25 Jesus Christ Superstar Show For the second consecutive year, 4 Teenth Productions, together with Ghaqda Muzikali San Gorg Martri will stage highlights from the cult musical in a WW II Shelter at the St George's Band Club, Qormi. Held on March 23 and 24 at 20:00, 21:00, 22:00 and 23:00; On Friday (Good Friday) at 09:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00. Bookings: 7909 6060. Entrance is at €3. MARCH 24, 25 The Last Supper Table A live reenactment of The Lord's Supper organised by Għaqda Drammatika Għajnsielem at Ta' Passi, Għajnsielem, Gozo at 20:30. The grotto area utilized during Bethlehem f `Għajnsielem, will be transformed into the room where actors will portray Jesus sharing his final meal with his Apostles before his crucifixion. There will also be a live kitchen where traditional Passover food will be prepared. Taking place on March 24 from 20:30 until 23:30, and the following morning – Good Friday – from 09:00 until 12:00. MARCH 24, 25 Xilton Hahoxek – Walkthrough in a WWII shelter 4 Teenth Productions presents a new take on the Passion of Christ and will transform a WWII shelter in the Garden of Gethsemane. This shelter is unique in its essence, and situated next to St. George's Church, Qormi where Good Friday statues will be on display at St George's Church.Xiltòn Ħaħóxek, "when darkness reigns" will be starting exactly after the Passover meal leading to the Golgota. The arrest and trial leading to Jesus conviction are all intertwined in this 30-minute experience transmitted in Jesus' native language, Hebrew, as well as Latin & Maltese. Performances will be held on Maundy Thursday from 8:00 p.m. onwards, and on Good Friday 25 March from 9:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. Cast includes Adrian Azzopardi, Mario Aquilina, Jonathan Tonna, Neville Refalo and Mariella Aquilina. WORKSHOP TODAY Ebejer: Sketching with the artist Sketching workshop at Spazju Kreattiv (St James Cavalier) with the artist Damian Ebejer from 18:00 to 21:00. BOOK EVENTS MARCH 29 Cloistered Spaces Book launch of Cloistered Spaces: A Journey through Sacred Gardens in the Maltese Islands at Verdala Palace, Rabat from 15:00 to 17:30. Put together under the auspices for the President's Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society, the book takes a creative look at how religious communities integrate gardens into everyday life. The book will be on sale during the event. Entrance to the launch is free but space is limited, so booking on pfws.opr@gov.mt is recommended. APRIL 5–7 Campus Book Fest The Għaqda tal-Malti – Università and the National Book Council are organising the third edition of the University Book Festival, known better as the Campus Book Fest. The Festival will take place at the University Campus, Tal-Qroqq from 09:00 till 14:00 and from 16:00 till late. Several publishers and distributors will be participating, and there will be talks and workshops running throughout. This year's special festival guest is the Icelandic writer Gerdur Kristny. On April 6, Kristný will be giving a workshop related to the re-writing of Norse Mythology and on April 7, we will be closing off the festival with a reading of her work followed by a Q&A session.
