22 maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 9 NOVEMBER 2016 Sport MOTORSPORTS ASMK Enduro 2016/2017 starts this Sunday ON Sunday 13 November 2016 Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) is opening an- other Championship sponsored by ASMK and Pasta Poiatti of the 2016/2017 season. The Enduro Section will be launching the first event of the Enduro motorcycle riders which is to be held at the ASMK Motor Sports Complex at Ta' Qali. As previously announced by the Association, this 2016-2017 Endu- ro Championship will include six races. Such competitions normal- ly almost all events take place out- side the Association Sports Com- plex. This is made possible with the full cooperation of owners of quarries and other locations. On Saturday which is the eve of Enduro event the Enduro commit- tee under the direction of Mr Ed- die Bonello will be constructing the Championship launching race track. This is to include natural and man-made obstacles for the riders in the race. This temporary Enduro circuit is being construct- ed at the ASMK premises at Ta 'Qali. Registration for the Sunday race starts at 9: 00am while racing starts at 10.00am. All registered competitors will be divided into three classes - that of motorcycles under the 250cc and Over 250cc and another class for Trials mo- torcycles. Meanwhile the Association in- forms all the Trials Motorcycles enthusiasts that as the Trials first competition of Sunday 30th Octo- ber 2016 was cancelled due to bad weather on the previous night, this competition is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 13th Decem- ber which is a Public Holiday. The location will be announced later on. Currently the Association is un- derway with the first project on the Autocross track wherespecial machinery is used to remove a substantial part of the entire track surface of the track Autocross on the kilometre long track. This work is being made possible thanks to the contractors Polida- no Group, Philip Agius & Sons and Carmel Vella & Sons. The work is being coordinated by the Project Manager of the Association Mr. Lawrence Darmanin. The work on the motocross track is expected to commence next week. Meanwhile, the Association points out that in the ASMK website one finds all information related to any kind of sport organ- ized by the Association together with the relative regulations, re- sults, news and continuous updat- ing of the calendar of sporting and social events.
