FEBRUARY 17, 18 Rebecca Binnendyk at the Jazz Cave Canadian jazz singer Rebecca Binnendyk will be performing at the Jazz Cave, St Julian's. She will be accompanying Carlo Muscat and his quartet, including Clint Campisi (guitar), TODAY WHAT'S ON Fawwara Nature Walk Walk from Verdala Palace to Fawwara Valley organised by Birdlife Malta. Meeting point at 09:00 at Verdala Palace. Participation fee is €3 for members €5 for non-members. Concert of the Valletta International Piano Competition Winners Winners of the Valletta International Piano Competition 2017. Young pianists between 14 - 28 years of age from different countries will be рerforming the best pieces from baroque to the modern piano music at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta at 17:00. Entrance is free but a donation is appreciated. In Guardia Parade Historical re-enactment at Fort St Elmo, Valletta at 11:00. The re-enactment portrays the inspection of the fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs. During the re-enactment, of the fort's garrison - some 50 re-enactors in all, kitted-out in their uniforms perform their military drill to demonstrate to the Grand Bailiff its state of readiness. Mortem Heritage Malta will be organising various activities at St Paul's Catacombs including re-enactments, lectures, treasure hunts for children, and Roman parades by the Legio X Fretensis. One will also have the opportunity to taste food prepared according to recipes of the time. Opening hours: 09:00 – 18:00 (last admission at 17:00). Admission tickets reduced to just €2 per person (includes also admission to St Augustine's Catacombs). Heritage Malta membership card holders and children enter for free. St Paul's Shipwreck Lecture and Mass The Anglican Church in Malta and Gozo will be organising a 'St. Paul's Shipwreck' Mass, Lecture and Lunch at St Paul's Anglican Cathedral in Valletta at 11:00. The Reverend Canon Jeremy Haselocke, Sub-Dean of Norwich Cathedral as preacher and The Reverend Professor Marius Zerafa as lecturer. 24-Hour Party People Film Night Film night at Hole in the Wall Pub, Sliema at 21:00, screening the British cult classic 24-Hour Party People by Michael Winterbottom, focused on Manchester's popular music community from 1976 to 1992. Tonight: 24 Hour Party People Forgotten Landscapes, exhibited at Spazju Kreattiv The Fuzzhoneys, performing on February 25 nosnow/noalps celebrate their 10-year anniversary
