For this event 27 competitors registered while be- ing divided into two classes, that for the Modified and Standard classes. During the Heats of the day no one managed to win all the 3 Qualifying Heats but Gordon Johnson and Philip Joe Vella both on Opel Corsa cars stood out as they were the only two competi- tors winning the highest points scores in the Heats thus sealing their place in the Class A 9 Laps Final Race. Jean Paul Grech on Puegoet 106, Matthew Borg on a Vauxhall Nova, Terence Azzo- pardi and James Micallef both on Opel Corsa cars also qualified for this Class A Final on the 6 cars Start Grid. Right from the start of the race Vella and Johnson showed their quality but Vella managed to take the lead up to the first corner while Johnson and Micallef fol- lowed close by. The focus turned on Johnson who was making pres- sure on Vella on each and every corner but Vella resisted the pres- sure very well from Johnson which resulted in Vella winning this tough nine Laps Race Final ahead of Johnson. Third place finisher was won by Borg who was closely followed by Micallef and Azzopar- di. Grech finished in 6th palce as he had to withdraw from the race because of mechanical damage to the car.
