Australia will once again open the campaign, with Abu Dhabi retained as the season finale, the championship running from late March to late November, as per 2017. Returning events in France (at Paul Ricard) and Ger- many (at Hockenheim) have been given dates of 24 June and 22 July respectively. France's comeback is set to form the first of a triple- header, with races in Austria and Britain to take place over successive weekends. Azerbaijan has been moved from June to April, taking Russia's date, with Sochi con- sequently forming the first of a back-to-back with Japan in late September. Malaysia, which joined the championship in 1999, will not feature in 2018, after of- ficials at Sepang and new owners Liberty Media mu- tually agreed to end its con- tract prematurely. Events in China and Singa- pore remain subject to con- firmation from the Commer- cial Rights Holder. The calendar also avoids a clash with the Le Mans 24 Hours, which will take place on 16-17 June.
