The filmic analysis is based on the life, work and times of the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, best known for his iconic woodblock print, The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Screening at St James Cavalier at 7:30pm UNTIL AUGUST 10 A Tranquil Star Collective exhibition of international artists at the newly-reopened Malta Contemporary Art, 12, Felix Street, Valletta. Featuring the work of Anthea Hamilton (UK), 2017 Venice Biennale artist Salvatore Arancio (Italy) as well as Basim Magdy (Egypt), Haris Epaminonda (Cyprus) and Nicholas Byrne (UK). The exhibition has an environmental bent, and is supplemented by literary text penned by Clifford Jo Zahra. Twelve writers from eight countries are reading in the festival, which also features Maltese and foreign poetry films, Maltese jazz bands, a book stall, a book binding stand, drinks and food. Entrance to all events is free.
