Curated by Sabrina Calleja Jackson, the exhibition illustrates a nostal- gic walk through the current evidence of our country's de- velopment. It narrates the eth- ics projected onto sentimental spaces and memories based on these values and meanings. Friday will kickstart an exten- sive programme of events that will give visitors to the island a taster of Gozo's incredibly ac- tive year-round cultural life, kids and adults alike. MAY 25 Rock the Fort TEN08 proudly presents 'Rock The Fort' the open-air Classic Rock concert. Featur- ing Cash & Band, Bernie & Pod, Xarulu`, Purple Haze, Lara Di- mech & Ivan Filletti who will be performing best hits from Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppe- lin, AC/DC & much more! THEATRE & DANCE MAY 16-20 The Crucible Teatru Manoel presents a new production of American playwright Arthur Miller's classic play which is regarded as a central work in the canon of American drama. This is a dramatised and partially fic- tionalised story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692/93. The show is strictly 16+. Tickets range be- tween €10 and €25. MAY 18-20 Apocalesque! Fringe theatre and variety show with an 'apocalyptic bur- lesque' theme at City Lights, St John's Street, Valletta at 20:00. It's post apocalyptic Malta. The enormous weight of the construction boom has caused the island to collapse. The only ones that remain are the filthy dregs of society. Culture, how- ever, is booming with sinister priests, voodoo goddesses, fe- line slaves and flesh eating vir- gins luring victims into their beautifully twisted cabaret. FILM SCREENING MAY 22 Two Trumpets for St Andrew/ Luqa Screening presented by Solar Cinema Malta of the docu- mentary Two Trumpets For St. Andrew (1968) at Iz-Zuntier tad-Dokkiena, Luqa at 20:30. Two Trumpets For St Andrew is an Australian documentary film that follows the rivalry between two band clubs in the village of Luqa in 1968. John Calleja and Anthony Theuma are the two main protagonists. We are introduced to their way of life and to their passion for their respective band clubs. Both men take us to their place of work - The military air base and the Malta dry Docks. Shot while the British occupation was ending and Malta's inde- pendence was at its inception, this film offers a rare view of how Maltese village life was at the time. The film also features interviews with Archbishop Gonzi, Gorg Borg Olivier and Dom Mintoff. The screening is free. VILLAGE EVENTS MAY 19-20 Malta Artisan Spring Market Malta Artisan Markets presented a spring market, which will be held at Fort St Elmo over the weekend of Saturday 19 and Sun- day 20 May, between 11am and 6pm. The market will feature local independent sell- ers, artisans and crafters, food stalls. The market will also be dog friendly, and is sponsored by Coffee Circus and Heritage Malta. Entrance is free. MAY 20 Irkottafest 2018 Event celebrating Irkotta, taking place at Ħal Kirkop main square from 09:30 to 20:00. Ħal Kirkop is exten- sively noted for the tradition of Irkotta making. During this event there will be a live dem- onstration of how Irkotta is made and other things such as artisans exhibiting lace-mak- ing, weaving, traditional food preservation and hand-made work. An art exhibition will also be held along with vari- ous entertainment through- out the day. JUNE 7 Qamar il-Ghasel Cultural event hosted by the Hal Safi Local Council with the support of Malta Arts Council, taking place from 10:00 until 19:00. Visitors will be able to walk through the Sir Alexander Ball Gar- den during the day, and at the main parish square, one will have the opportunity to visit several stalls which will be offering various products which are produced from pure honey and its subsidies. Lectures and activities for children will also be included in the event. MAY 26- JUNE 2 Malta Fashion Week The Malta Fashion Week is back for it's 20th anniversary. Taking place all through- out Malta, the week event will feature fashion shows, bridal shows, fashion awards, and so much more celebrat- ing Malta's fashion industry. Tickets vary depending on shows and while some show are free of charge, others are paid events. Rudimental will perform at Gozo Alive next weekend. Taking place at City Lights, Valletta, Apocalesque! will be a satirical twisted cabaret of fringe theatre variety acts
