The ban on Stitching, a play by An- thony Neilson and produced by Uni- faun Theatre, will finally be staged nine years since the censorship board's momentous decision to stop the play. It effectively signed its own death sen- tence, leading to an overhaul of the classification system by the PN govern- ment in 2012 and finally the wholesale removal of arts censorship by the La- bour government. The ban also cost the Maltese govern- ment €20,000 in legal costs and dam- ages for breach of the European Convention of Human Rights.
