OPINION maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 11 JULY 2018 8 OPINION We are changing THE Kunsill Studenti Jun- ior College (KSJC) is one of the most recognised student councils in Malta and Gozo. A popularity that comes due to the high voter turnout in every KSJC election and vi- tally through the tangible projects, initiatives and cam- paigns the council embarks on every year. The KSJC executive is made up of seven members that are elected in November. Student organisation Pulse won the last KSJC elections obtaining all seats in the council, once again. In the past two years, we brought a well-needed change. We invested thou- sands of money into infra- structural projects around the campus to refine areas like "Il-Pjazza", the Study Area and the Study Garden while creating the largest green area on campus in a time span of nine months. Lately, KSJC lobbied the government and the Univer- sity of Malta for a complete refurbishment of the 5-a- side football pitch – a long- awaited project by hundreds of Junior College students across the years. We are not stopping here on infrastructure. In the pipe- line, we have more exciting projects, in particular, re- vamping both the Junior Col- lege Games Room and Youth Hub while installing another green and chill-out area. Every year we envision to increase culture and enter- tainment activities for Jun- ior College students. Last year, we launched the first ever "Lejla JC" and "Ikteb Novella" initiatives aimed at showcasing what our campus has to offer. In the upcoming months, KSJC will be organ- ising the first international trip to Sicily and the first- ever Comedy Festival. We are a council of oppor- tunities. In the past months, we have managed to strike a sponsorship deal with radio station 89.7 BAY aimed to provide hands-on internship experience to fellow students while promoting the coun- cil's work on a much bigger scale. KSJC also offers a wide- range of services all year round, enabling students to rent a book, locker, bike, laptop or a tablet and much more. This is only a part of an incredible journey that we managed to live in the past two years. Log on to our Fa- cebook page and our new website for more news about what we do. We want to re- main the council of change.
