maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 23 JANUARY 2019 13 BUSINESS A unique opportunity to net- work with some 1,500 of the world's top business leaders awaits the Malta winners of the 2019 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Both the winner of the main award and the winner of the Rising Star award will, in fact, travel to Monaco later this year for the EY World Entre- preneur of the Year Award. This is the third year in which EY Malta is participat- ing in the EY World Entrepre- neur of the Year programme. The programme now runs in 165 cities and regions in over 60 countries and is the world's biggest and most prestigious business award for entrepre- neurs and the only one with a truly global dimension. The final event in Monaco brings together the national win- ners from all these countries, selected from a pool of over 5,000 nominees. While the winner of the EY Malta Entre- preneur of the Year will also be competing for the global award, the networking oppor- tunities for both Malta win- ners will be priceless. 2018 EY Malta Rising Star Award winner, Shane A Hunt- er, who is Managing Partner at the AquaBioTech Group, said, "The awards event in Monaco was very cleverly linked to an EY networking and business conference over two days where I was able to attend a number of sessions and listen and learn from other entrepreneurs, as well as EY specialists from all over their network. The experi- ence was amazing and one that I really appreciated as it gave me a unique insight into many other businesses from across the world." Angelo Xuereb, Chairman of AX Group and winner of the 2018 EY Malta Entre- preneur of the Year Award, said, "Monaco seemed to have been completely taken over by the event. There were many opportunities to meet with other international en- trepreneurs and to draw in- spiration from the many per- sonalities who were invited as key-note speakers. The high- light, of course, was the award ceremony night in a spectac- ular venue by the sea. It was a great honour to be called up on stage representing my country in the presence of all those esteemed guests. In short, it was a once-in-a-life- time experience I shall never forget." Nominations for the 2019 EY Malta Entrepreneur of the Year Award are open until 31 January 2019. For more infor- mation or to enter a nomina- tion visit www.eoymalta.com.
