31 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 24 MARCH 2019 SPORTS RAFFA BOWLS CAREER OPPORTUNITY Lands Authority is seeking applications from interested persons to fill the following position: Senior Manager Information Technology Jobplus Permit Number – 229/2019 ESSENTIAL Qualifications A recognized Diploma in ICT studies equivalent to MQF Level 5 from a recognized institution and a good level of general education. Demonstrated knowledge of Windows software and desktop products. Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users. Demonstrated ability to administer a 500+ node network. Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers. Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies. Have a basic knowledge on configuring and administering Network Routers and Switches. Basic background in most of the areas within this job especially TCP/IP, sub-netting and VLANs in a routed networks environment. Experience on TCP/IP and related diagnostic tools are a must. DESIRABLE The prospective jobholder is expected to be a highly energetic individual who shall display high levels of initiative and thorough preparation and will also be an excellent communicator. Other Attributes (if applicable) TOP Maltese Raffa Bowls play- er, David Farrugia, classified among the top 10 worldwide Raffa players in a recent inter- national competition in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argen- tina. The international competi- tion, widely known as World Raffa Championships, was organised by Confederación Argentina de Bochas, and was held earlier this month. During these championships, Malta, thanks to Farrugia, secured the 9th position from a total of 25 participating countries from Europe, America, Asia and Af- rica. In the first round, Farrugia won against the Swiss player Aramis Giaminazzi (12-9), Chilean Rodolfo Galuex (9-8) and also against the Algerian player Hakim Ali (12-0). He lost against the Chinese player, Suo Wentao (9-6). In the sec- ond round, he lost against En- rico dall'Olmo, representing San Marino (12-5) and won against the Hungarian player, Gabor Foti. In the decisive match, he lost 12-6 against the Sammarinese player. This put him in the 9th position. Upon his return from Ar- gentina, David Farrugia visited Fairwinds Management Lim- ited offices in B'Kara to per- sonally thank the founder and CEO of the company, Adrian Sciberras, for the financial sup- port that the company provides the club with, and for sponsor- ing Farrugia himself, not just during training in Malta but also for competitions abroad such as the latest one held in Argentina.
