17 COMMERCIAL maltatoday | SUNDAY • 21 APRIL 2019 MORE than 700,000 jars and carton boxes were collected and recycled through the Nescafé Collect Scheme and Nescafé Dolce Gusto Bonus Point Scheme Nestlé, and specifically Malta's favour- ite coffee brand Nescafé, has recycled more than 433,000 jars and 300,000 car- ton boxes, all collected in 2018 alone. Through the Nescafé Collect Scheme consumers were encouraged to collect their empty Nescafé jars and exchange them at the Nestlé Consumer Centre in Lija for various collectible gifts and vouchers. The Nescafé Dolce Gusto Bonus Point Scheme likewise offered coffee lovers the chance to swap their empty Nescafé Dolce Gusto carton boxes for any of a number of stylish coffee-related acces- sories or even new machines from the Nescafé Dolce Gusto range. This impressive annual recycling fig- ure continues to illustrate Nestlé Mal- ta's commitment to helping the local environment. "We are proud that Nes- café has once again recycled such an extraordinary number of jars and car- ton boxes in just one year," says Alfred Borg, Marketing and Corporate Com- munications Manager at Nestlé Malta Limited. "Not only does this reinforce our commitment towards the environ- ment – especially in view of the growing awareness regarding waste separation in Malta – but it also proves that gi- ant industry names such as ours, which have a substantial presence on this mar- ket, are more than able to uphold their corporate social responsibility." In the coming years the coffee giant's recycling figure is set to grow even fur- ther, as it works towards making all its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025. As Malta's favourite coffee, Nescafe's values regarding consumer safety and respect towards the planet have been honed thanks to a long history of the brand on the Maltese islands. Today, so many homes in Malta have a Nes- café Dolce Gusto machine that a new specialised Service Point was recently opened within the Nestlé Consumer Centre in Lija. Specialising in the modern art of cof- fee, Nescafé Dolce Gusto offers the ul- timate range of indulgent hot beverages for coffee-lovers to enjoy in the comfort of their own home. Emirates rolls out special Easter menus HORSE owners participating in the final of this year's BOV Tazza l-Kbira drew the starting numbers for their horses dur- ing a press conference held at the Malta Racing Club. The 12 finalists were deter- mined from 72 top category trotters in Malta following a series of heats and two semi finals. The BOV Tazza l-Kbira is the most prestigious race in the local horse racing calendar and to keep with tradition it is raced at the 2,640m distance. The prestige of this historic race goes beyond the fact that it has the biggest prize pot of all the Malta Racing Club races. Edwin Borg, Chairman of the Malta Racing Club together with Charles Azzopardi Execu- tive PR and Marketing at Bank of Valletta assisted the drawing of the starting numbers which was done by the owners them- selves. MRC Chairman acknowl- edged the importance of this draw stating that this some- times determined one's chanc- es especially if a horse is ada- mant on going to the front or does not like being boxed in. Whilst anyone of the 12 hors- es can be the winner, the sure thing is that this year it will be a new horse that will put its name on the prestigious tro- phy. The passion shown by the owners, drivers and all those involved in this sporting disci- pline is exemplary and we are glad to again be supporting this prestigious event said Mr Azzopardi. Sports is an integral part of Bank of Valletta's active participation in the communi- ty in which we operate and we take the opportunity to wish all the participants all the best for the final of the BOV Tazza l-Kbira. The final of the BOV Tazza l-Kbira will be held on Sunday 28th April and as usual a spe- cial entertainment programme is being prepared. The horse parade will be led by last year's winner Urgah du Rib.
