M2 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 21 APRIL 2019 MOTORING EXPRESS Trailers has been witnessing an increasing trend mostly during the spring and summer seasons when bikers decide to travel overland to enjoy their motorbikes and discover neighbouring countries in a more personal way. "We have been noticing this trend for quite some time to the extent that today, we have a whole infrastructure in place purposely to service customers with these requirements. In fact, we handle requests to ship motorbikes to and from Europe on a regular basis and as Express Trailers, we are willing to invest more in this growing service," explains Antoine Vella, Director & Head of International Operations at Express Trailers who over- sees this service. The service is offered from Malta to anywhere and from anywhere across Eu- rope to Malta thanks to a strong network of depots and leading partners in most countries. Motorbikes are shipped via Express Trailers' road haulage network, always strapped and crated in a safe and secure manner. "For motorbikes being sent from Mal- ta, we always advise that the packaging is done by us in order to ensure maxi- mum safety for the motorbikes. We invite customers to drive their bikes to our operational yard here in Luqa, adja- cent to our offices, where we load them on special pallets purposely made for the transport of motorbikes. After we strap them down to their pallet, we cov- er them and have them shrink wrapped. The packaging is in such a way that it also offers discreetness. And to help customers not incur additional charges, we also advise that all additional equip- ment is packed together with the bikes to make sure everything arrives togeth- er," added Antoine Vella. Prices are very competitive, and the service is very straightforward especially when motorbikes are shipped to desti- nations such as Italy, France, Spain, UK, Germany and other European destina- tions where Express Trailers enjoys a direct link. "From destinations where we enjoy a direct link, a trip will take between five and seven days. To other destinations the service will still be possible however, this would need to be handled through other agents so the price will always be a bit higher and the trip duration, slightly longer and depending on the agent han- dling the job. And when motorbikes are being sent to Malta, our own depots will also handle packaging, however, in other destinations, the packaging will be of- fered at an additional price." Vella added that the demand for this service is increasing at a steady pace and today, although each delivery will still be treated on a case-by-case basis, Express Trailers will also be willing to offer dis- counted rates when a number of motor- cycles are being shipped to customers and also to customers who use the ser- vice regularly. "Being able to offer peace of mind to our customers shipping their motorbike overseas, is very important. In fact, mo- torbike owners would not need to be pre- sent at the port or depot on arrival of the shipment because when the cargo arrives at destination, the customer is immedi- ately informed by us. And safe storage of the motorbikes is also possible once it ar- rives until it is ready to be picked up. Our service is also flexible enough to the ex- tent that arrangements can be organised also at shorter notice. We are geared up to offer this level of flexibility. Today, Express Trailers is a transport and logistics specialist, committed to re- main at the forefront as an enabler, with a mission to support customers and busi- ness partners in all their transport and logistics requirements. Bikers interested in this service are in- vited to contact Express Trailers' Sales Team on sales@expressgroup.com.mt. Express Trailers supporting increasing trend of overland biking holidays
