Revamp Malta is organising a concert at the National Library on 25th, 26th and 27th Octo- ber: Your Song - Celebrating the music of Elton John. The idea is to present fresh music arrangements of some of Elton John's greatest hits spanning his 50-year career. The line-up in- cludes some fantastic voices, ac- companied by a rhythm section and string orchestra. For more information go to https://www. facebook.com/revampmalta/ videos/719635251814708/ 14 NOVEMBER Operetta Highlights Bulgarian-born soprano An- driana Yordanova will grace the Refectory at Palazzo Falson to sing vivacious excerpts from some of the well-loved operettas that are entertaining, satirical and witty. She will be singing delightful arias from the fa- mous operettas 'Giuditta' 'The Merry Widow' and 'Paganini' all written by the composer Franz Lehár and other wonder- ful songs by celebrated compos- ers such as Richard Straus and Robert Stolz, amongst others. Andriana Yordanova will be accompanied by cellist Lucie Kucharova and violinist Philipp Orlov. The recital will be held on Thursday 14th November at 6.30pm. Entrance to the concert is at a suggested dona- tion of 10 euro and patrons are invited to visit the museum at a discounted price. The Festival celebrates the wonder of books through a wide programme of family-friendly activities – in- cluding book launches and pres- entations, poetry and literature readings, meetings with authors, dramatisations of literary texts, and conferences and seminars. The festival also offers extensive networking opportunities for professionals in the book world. This year round, one of the high- lights of the Festival is the open- ing conference revolving around the literary genres of sci-fi and fantasy. The conference will be led by a number of local and overseas authors. Among them is Loranne Vella, the Brussels based author of Rokit (Merlin Publishers) and winner of the 2018 National Book Prize. The fesival will take place at the Med- iterranean Conference Centre. The event will take place at 7.30pm, for more in- formation go to www.phoeni- ciamalta.com Theatre 13-14 OCTOBER Certified Male Certified Male will soon be produced for the first time in Malta by Exit Stage Right, known for previous success- ful productions such as I Am My Own Wife, and Every Bril- liant Thing. Certified Male was penned by award-win- ning Australian writers and performers Scott Rankin and Glynn Nicholas. For its Malta debut, Certified Male will be co-directed by Nicholas him- self alongside local theatre veteran Nanette Brimmer, and will star renowned performers Alan Montanaro, Alan Paris, Joseph Zammit and Stephen Oliver. Certified Male is pro- duced by Exit Stage Right and is being performed at the Te- atru Salesjan, Sliema on 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 October. Booking is open at www.ticketline.com.mt 16-18 OCTOBER We Will Rock you FM Theatre Productions re- turns following the sell-out successes of My Fair Lady and Mamma Mia! with another smash-hit musical, We Will Rock You. Based on songs by the legendary British rock band Queen, We Will Rock You is one of the most popular and longest-running musicals on London's West End and has also been produced in six continents. The band's time- less classic songs such as Ra- dio Gaga, Somebody To Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and of course. We Will Rock You, will be performed by a stellar cast of local and international artists, including West End leads Katie Paine and Jordan Carr.
