12 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 14 JUNE 2020 COMMERCIAL EY's virtual future realised EY have announced that the 16th edition of what was previ- ously known as the EY Annual Attractiveness Event, will be open to all in a ground-break- ing virtual format held over four days next October. Fu- ture Realised Week is in- tended to trigger new ideas, challenge perspectives and explore different possibilities for Malta post-COVID-19. The event is well-known amongst private and public sector leaders, annually bring- ing together over 1,000 CEOs, entrepreneurs and investors to discuss foreign direct in- vestment (FDI), business and technology. The results of the Malta At- tractiveness Survey, an annual study conducted among exist- ing FDI companies in Malta, will outline current investors' sentiments on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, Malta's strengths, weaknesses and where the island should be fo- cusing its efforts. The virtual format will en- able a more global forum. Speakers from all over the world will provide insights and local speakers will also provide their views on the challenges and opportunities being faced at both country and corporate level. Through- out the discussions, partici- pants will assess the benefit of focusing on long-term value. There will also be an opportu- nity to discuss the challenges which companies face in sur- viving and prospering in the short-term particularly after the pandemic while adopt- ing more sustainable practic- es, modern technology and a people first approach. As businesses deal with the immediate impact of COV- ID-19, ensuring employees are as safe and securing fi- nancial sustainability, we also need to begin contemplating the action needed for Malta to thrive in the long-term. Ronald Attard, EY Country Managing Partner said: "We needed to re-dimension a national event which acts as a measure for Malta's invest- ment attractiveness and a fo- rum for real discussion across various sectors. This year's fo- cus will place extra emphasis on exploring the possibilities post-crisis for Malta to thrive despite its inherent insulari- ty in a world, which is more connected remotely. We also want to take the opportunity to explore the benefits of pur- suing sustainable and longer- term value goals. "We're proud to announce a fully virtual Future Realised Week, bringing together the greatest minds from Malta and even all over the world. Expect the typical innova- tive insights from our survey and speakers that past events would include but expect some surprises too." Future Realised Week will take place between October 20 – 23. Gold award for Marnisi Organic MARSOVIN has been awarded a Gold medal for their Marnisi Organic vintage 2018 at the International Organic Wine Awards 2020, making this the 3rd con- secutive year that Marnisi has won an award in this prestigious international competition. Marsovin's Marnisi is the first Maltese wine falling in the premi- um wine category to be EU certified and awarded the official seal of 'Organic Wine'. This wine competition is exclusively for international wines made from or- ganically grown grapes (certified organic wine), and has become one of the most quality oriented contests in the industry. This year Marnisi 2018 has competed with another 648 wines coming from 18 different countries and has been awarded 90 points, meriting a Gold medal. Each participating organic wine is individu- ally evaluated by the jury that consists of PAR® Certified Masters working in groups of three. Each nominee receives replicable and objective documentation of its sensory and oenological character- istics, always assessed with respect to its authenticity, origin, and style – a skill of the specially educated jury members. This is the third vintage release for Marnisi as an organic wine. The organ- ic conversion process began with the application of organic farming practic- es at the Marnisi Estate in Marsaxlokk, with an area covering 2.8 hectares mak- ing it the largest expanse of organical- ly-farmed vines in Malta. In order to have organically-grown grapes, Marso- vin's viticulturists engage in an entire- ly different set of practices to maintain their vines. Once grapes are harvested they are transferred to the winery, where an alternative winemaking approach is employed to focus on the use of a spe- cific list of ingredients used for organic vinification. Marnisi is available in all premium wine shops, as well as the Marsovin Cel- lars in Paola and The Master Cellar in Naxxar or Gzira.
