The tour marks another milestone in the orchestra's ongoing mission to share Malta's rich musical heritage with audi- ences around the world Under the ba- ton of Conductor Sergey Smbatyan, the MPO will bring its signature blend of Mediterranean passion and artistic ex- cellence to stages in the UK. "Our UK tour represents not only a celebration of Maltese artistry but also a cultural dialogue with international au- diences," Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Vanessa Mangion. "We are proud to represent Malta on this distinguished platform and, as many times before, to perform in some of the most respected halls in the world." The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1968, has grown into one of the leading cultural ambassadors of Mal- ta, performing regularly across Europe, the United States, and Asia. With this UK tour, the MPO continues its tradi- tion of showcasing Malta's vibrant artis- tic identity through world-class perfor- mances and collaborations. The repertoire for these concerts fea- tures Mozart's timeless overture to The Magic Flute, and a riveting new work by Maltese composer Karl Fiorini, The prospects of the future. Acclaimed pia- nist Freddy Kempf takes the spotlight as soloist in Rachmaninoff's beloved Piano Concerto No. 2, seamlessly blending lyr- icism with powerful virtuosity. Rich in passion and orchestral colour, Tchaik- ovsky's Symphony No. 5 explores themes of longing and redemption with striking melodic beauty and emotional intensity. The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra is set to embark on a prestigious tour of the United Kingdom from 8 to 13 November 2025 MaltaPost unveils exclusive stamp miniature sheet in collaboration with Malta Comic Con MALTAPOST, in collaboration with Astorina srl, an Italian pub- lishing company, and Wicked Entertainment, the organisers of the Malta Comic Con pop cul- ture event, is issuing a special DIABOLIK miniature sheet con- sisting of one stamp created by Riccardo Nunziati, the renowned current artist of the legendary Diabolik comic series that relates about a cunning master thief and antihero. The miniature sheet depicts scenes of Maltese locations and historical symbols – Fort Manoel, the tall steeple of St Paul's Angli- can Cathedral in Valletta, tradi- tional Maltese wooden balconies and the eye symbol of "Osiris" on a dry-stone rubble wall. The image of the stamp, within the miniature sheet, shows a draw- ing of Diabolik and Eva Kant, his partner in crime, engaged in a passionate kiss. MaltaPost will participate at the Malta Comic Con 25 event which will be held at the Eden Arena in St. Julian's on the 8 and 9 November 2025. Artist Riccar- do Nunziati will be present at the Company's stand to personally sign any MaltaPost Diabolik-re- lated philatelic products. The new stamp within the min- iature sheet measures 30.5mm x 41mm, with a comb perforation of 13.9 x 14.00 and bears the Mal- tese Cross watermark. The min- iature sheet measures 139mm x 86mm and was produced in the offset process by Printex Ltd. The issue consists of 10,000 miniature sheets with each stamp carrying a denomination of €5.00. The miniature sheet will be available from all Post Offices in Malta and Gozo as from Sat- urday 8 November 2025.
