These works are an enchanting homage reflecting the grace and emotional depth of Austen's era. MPO Chamber Concert - 14 December at Robert Sammut Hall, Floriana 998. Moussier's Redstart REDSTARTS are small robin-sized birds. We get two regular red- start species here: one a common passage migrant and the other a wintering bird. But there's a third species that is far rarer, and that's the Moussier's redstart. The male is a jewel of a bird: his striking black-rust-white pattern would catch the eye of even the least na- ture-oriented rambler; females are much more subdued in hue. Bird enthusiasts usually need to cross over to North Africa to see this bird – hence its Maltese name Fjamma tat-Tuneżija – but in recent years one or two have been seen almost annually. The birds keep to the remoter parts of our countryside, as indeed did a female that turned up some days ago. 5 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 30 NOVEMBER 2025 ALMANAC Victor Falzon, Aron Tanti (photo)
