A resounding 51.9% of the elec- torate believes the Labour Party is on course to secure a record fourth term in the next election. At the same time, only 8% believe the Nationalist Party will win. The figures come from Mal- taToday's second part of the March survey, which gauged the nation's election mood. The first part showing voting intentions and trust in the party leaders was released last week. Significantly, while 75% of La- bour voters believe their party will win, confidence among PN voters sags with only 20.7% be- lieving in victory. Yet, uncertain- ty remains high, with 40.1% of voters unsure of the election's outcome, suggesting it may not be a foregone conclusion. Only 32.4% of voters be- lieve the Opposition par- ty is prepared to govern, while 44% think it is not ready. The survey also shows that despite obtaining single-digit support in the voting intentions survey, third parties are viewed sympatheti- cally by the electorate. The num- bers show that 39% of voters view ADPD representation in parliament as posi- tive, while 30.7% have a similar positive view of Momentum. But party loyalty re- mains high with 64.6% of voters saying they have always voted for the same party. Floating voters account for 29.9% of the elector- ate. With an election expected any- time within the next 12 months, the issues that matter most in the voting booth are the cost of liv- ing, spending power, traffic, the economy and population growth. As for the election date, 26.3% believe it will be in June YOUR RIGHT TO KNOW WWW.MALTATODAY.COM.MT SUNDAY 15 MARCH 2026 • ISSUE 1376 • PUBLISHED EVERY WEDNESDAY AND SUNDAY Airport expansion maltatoday Under investigation 13 years of Labour We look at the 13 proposals that changed Malta €2.20 PAGE 3 MIA CEO Alan Borg on the Iran war's impact and airport's terminal expansion Animal Welfare Directorate investigated over facility shortcomings INTERVIEW MT2 THE NATION'S ELECTION MOOD SEE MALTATODAY SURVEY PAGES 9-13 PAGE 14-15 Absolute majority expect Labour to win election, while relative majority believe the PN not ready to govern JAMES DEBONO jdebono@mediatoday.com.mt 51.9% PL will win election 44% PN unprepared to govern 39% ADPD in parliament is good 8% PN will win election 64.6% Always voted for same party 26.3% Believe in June election 10.1% Cost of living is key issue Key findings
