Anton Saliba, who will arrive on the island on 5 August, says the run is a personal tribute to his father, who died from can- cer in 2012. His father, originally from Malta, had long hoped to one day show his son around the island, an ambition that was nev- er realised. Saliba's run will trace the coast- line of Malta and Gozo while raising funds and awareness for cancer research and support services. He is currently docu- menting his preparation and ap- pealing to the Maltese public for support ahead of the attempt. The initiative, titled "Run Mal- ta 190," is expected to draw at- tention for both its physical demands and its emotional sig- nificance, linking diaspora iden- tity with a charitable cause.
