Public talk and book launch at Il-Hagar
by retired US army officer
IN another public talk at Il-Ħaġar Muse-
um this Saturday 2 May 2026 at 11:00, re-
tired US Army officer Andy Young, who
served for 34 years, will explore the human
core of Tide of War, focusing on how or-
dinary people respond when their lives
are overturned by extraordinary events.
Rather than examining military tactics or
historical detail, the presentation consid-
ers themes of loss, moral uncertainty, and
the fragile assumptions we hold about the
world. The story places its characters in
situations where values collide and no sin-
gle "right" answer exists. Through fiction,
the talk examines how stories can help
readers reflect on what truly matters when
certainty disappears.
Andy Young holds an MBA from North-
western University and has lectured on the
Law of Armed Conflict in Belfast, North-
ern Ireland. His writing is driven by a deep
respect for the servicemen and women of
the United States and its allies and seeks to
honour both them and their families.
Admission to Il-Ħaġar Museum is, as
always, free, but seat reservations are en-
couraged by sending an email to events@
