Nature Notebook YFOEM Wellbeing & Community Care Now more than ever, taking care of ourselves, each other and the more- than-human matters. Join us in a safe and supportive space where young people can come together to reflect, share, and connect. Through a facilitated discussion circle and guided practices, we will explore the emotional, psychological, and social impacts of ecological issues. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, build empathy, and reflect on how we can support our own wellbeing and that of our communities. Together, we'll explore ways to build re- silience, and care for one another and the living in challenging times. The session will include guided mindfulness practices, reflective exer- cises, and small-group sharing — creating space for both personal in- sight and collective connection. You'll also be invited to explore simple, everyday practices that can support your wellbeing and strengthen your sense of belonging and agency. The session will be facilitated by members of the Young Friends of the Earth Malta (YFoEM). Light refreshments included - Open to young people, come as you are. Daddy-longlegs spider WHEREVER you are, even in the privacy of your home, chances are you're being watched! Not by hidden high-tech spying gadget- ry (well that's possible too nowadays) but by something far more primitive. Lurking in a ceiling corner there is very possibly a dad- dy-longlegs spider (M. brimba tad-djar) eyeing the world under- neath. Actually I wrote that for effect, as spider eyes (all eight of them) are very myopic, so you'll be just a blur to them. But that's no handicap, because spiders are only interested in their immediate surroundings. They spin their invisible tangle of silk to trap hap- less flies and mosquitoes, which they then suck dry as you would a pineapple smoothie. Those sticky traps eventually become the dusty cobwebs house-cleaners attack with such vigour. No harm done there, as dusty webs are probably not in use. But if you spot the leggy web-spinner herself up there in the corner, be nice and let her live.
