On World Press Freedom Day, the EPP Group recalls the assassination of journalist
Daphne Caruana Galizia on 16 October 2017.
Despite some progress, the Maltese government has still not brought the alleged mastermind
to justice. Key recommendations of the public inquiry - repeatedly demanded by the European
Parliament - remain unimplemented.
We will keep our demand on the European Parliament's agenda until full justice is delivered.
Press freedom cannot wait. Accountability cannot be optional. Justice must be done.
