8 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 26 JUNE 2026 CULTURE FOLLOWING the continued popularity of its annual sea tours, Heritage Malta is once again launching two engaging itiner- aries for the summer months. In July and August, the public is in- vited to experience up close the striking coastlines of Filfla, the Grand Harbour, Ta' Ċenċ, and the Blue Lagoon from a unique perspective at sea. On Sunday 5th and 12th Ju- ly, and Sunday 23rd August, the Filfla–Grand Harbour Day Cruise will depart from Sliema Ferries at 10:00am for a full-day exploration of Malta's southern shores. The route takes in the enigmatic islet of Filfla – once used as a hideout by corsairs and later as a bombing target, today a protected wildlife sanc- tuary – before heading into the historic Grand Harbour, a natural stronghold shaped by millennia of history. A swim- ming stop in the clear waters of Il-Ħofriet is also included, before returning to Sliema at around 5:00pm. On Sunday 16th August, a morning cruise will offer par- ticipants a chance to breathe in the rugged, unspoilt beauty of the dramatic Ta' Ċenċ coast- line in Gozo, and the iconic Blue Lagoon in Comino. The towering cliffs at Ta' Ċenċ, plunging steeply into the sea, create one of the most strik- ing coastal panoramas in the Maltese Islands. These impres- sive cliffs are also a protected nature reserve, home to thriv- ing colonies of two species of shearwater, making the area a site of both geological and eco- logical significance. The cruise will then sail alongside the island of Comi- no, offering spectacular views of the Blue Lagoon, famed for its crystal- clear turquoise waters and one of Malta's most sought-af- ter natural attractions. Participants will depart from Buġibba Jetty at 9:30am and return to the same location by 5:00pm. On the return journey, the boat will stop in the beauti- ful waters off Santa Maria Bay, providing the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim. A se- lection of snacks and beverages will be available for purchase on board throughout all cruis- es.
