CONCERNS continue to be raised over the decision by Yorgen Fenech's defence team to contract pollster Vincent Marmara to alleged- ly gauge the public's percep- tion on the now-acquitted businessman in a bid to fa- cilitate their choice of jurors. MaltaToday is informed the recipients of the said poll may have been potential ju- rors on a publicised list by the state. The concerns are not mere supposition, but are based on the fact a poll held weeks before the verdict may have revealed important information about how a particular individual viewed Yorgen Fenech. This data may have been crucial when accepting or re- fusing a juror. Before accept- ance as a juror, jurors are intensely screened by both the defence and prosecuting teams Pro-Labour pollster Vin- cent Marmara had con- firmed under oath he did ac- cept to carry out a survey for the defence team, after it was commissioned by Yorgen Fenech's uncle Ray Fenech. Yorgen Fenech's defence team, who aided pollster Vince Marmarà with ques- tions, was rebuked by Judge Edwina Grima due to the fact the list of potential ju- rors in the case had already been published. In reply to reports, Marmara argued the audience was chosen at ran- dom, and the numbers used were randomly generated. Speaking on this incident on Saturday, parte civile law- yer Jason Azzopardi stated he was the one who came forward with the discovery of the survey to Judge Edwi- na Grima. The estimated value over the 65-year concession period is €744 million, with the tender closing on 7 December. The complex comprises three zones across 92,400sq.m: a deep tank and super stage facility, a shallow tank facility, and a head office production facility. The design incorporates a land-sea super stage that allows pro- ductions to film both above and be- low water in a single location. All three zones must be operation- al by late 2028. The concessionaire may begin operating individual zones once they receive certification, but completing all work by the deadline remains mandatory. Infrastructure work must commence from Zone 1 (deep tank and super stage).
