Mullan comes to Malta from the Hilton Barbados Resort where he was General Manager for the past four years. Matthew has been with Hilton Worldwide for more than twenty five years hav- ing joined the company as a trainee back in 1988, a career that has taken him to various parts of the United Kingdom, Egypt, Barbados and now Malta. He relocates to Hilton Malta with his wife Audrey and thirteen year old son Ciaran. "I'm thrilled to join such a won- derful team at Hilton Malta. I look forward to leading this very successful team and to achieving even greater successes over the coming years. Hilton Malta stands out as one of the leading hotels in our region and I am very proud to be appointed to this exciting and rewarding role. Matthew Mullan replaces Hilton Malta's long-standing General Manager Clement Hassid, who has retired after almost nine years at Hilton Malta and more than 47 years of service in the hospitality industry. What's more cus- tomers will enjoy even better value for money when they purchase their Emirates and Proflight Zambia flights together," said Orhan Abbas, Emirates senior Vice-President for Latin America, Central and south- ern Africa. Under the new agreement, cus- tomers will be able to purchase joint Emirates-Proflight Zambia itinerar- ies and will be issued with a single combined ticket. This will enable seamless connections to and from Proflight's eight domestic destina- tions: Ndola, Livingstone, Mfuwe, solwezi, Chipata, Mansa, Kasama and Mongu, as well as the local airline's two international routes, Lilongwe in Malawi and Dar-es- salaam in Tanzania, with Emirates' daily Lusaka service. Emirates operates daily scheduled flights from Malta to Dubai. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and saturdays Emirates flies via Larnaka, Cyprus, while on sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, the airline operates direct flights from Dubai to Malta and return flights fly via Tripoli. Together with the coordination of renowned archeologist, Dr Timmy Gambin, the lectures were deliv- ered by Liam Gauci, Curator of the Malta Maritime Museum, whose lecture centered on the momentous two years of the French occupation in Malta, from 1798 to 1800 and by Dr Conrad Thake who provided a kaleidoscope of social historical as- pects of the city over time since its inception. The public lectures are an ini- tiative of Frank salt Real Estate through its recently established Valletta Heritage Property division. The first lecture by Liam Gauci il- lustrated how in June 1798 General Bonaparte captured Malta from the hands of the Order of st. John. Af- ter only three months the Maltese rose up in revolution against the French Republican forces. Valletta was besieged and life in the city was drastically changed. Liam Gauci uncovered the various facets of Val- letta under siege. This was followed by a lecture by Dr Conrad Thake, who offered an informal overview of how our capital city has changed, transformed and renewed itself over time. It is city born out of a grand vision by the Order of st John that flourished over time, surviving even during times of adversity. Val- letta is an urban stage set where a wide range of human activities un- fold. Valletta is becoming ever more at- tractive, with more and more events being organized in the city. This has also brought with it a particular interest in real estate. so Frank salt Real Estate continues to increase its efforts to raise awareness of the city's rich heritage.
