This was Qormi's third con- secutive victory while Vittoriosa slumped to their second defeat in their last three matches. Qormi did not take long to show their dominance as they took the lead as early as the seventh minute. Alfred Effiong took advantage of an error by Vittoriosa's Luke Vella and easily beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat with his shot. Qormi continued to apply pres- sure on Vittoriosa but great goal- keeping by Mario Muscat kept the ball out of the net. Qormi would get their way in the second half as they doubled the score just four minutes after the restart. Qormi's second goal arrived when off a cross by Emerson Vella, Jorge Pereira da Silva headed the ball past goalkeeper Mario Muscat. Vittoriosa Siraj Arab had his shot from out side the area saved by goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia on the 54th minute. Qormi were awarded a penalty on the 61st minute when Jorge Pereira da Silva was brought down inside the area by Ousmane Sidibe with the latter immediately sent off by the referee. Off the penalty spot Jorge Pereira da Silva's first at- tempt was blocked by goalkeeper Mario Muscat, but then the Brazil- ian made sure he scored from close range to make the score 3-0. Leighton Grech scored to make it 4-0 after he concluded a great run when he was served by Raf- faele Simone Quintieri on the 72nd minute. The fifth goal did not take long to arrive as just a minute later, Leighton Grech dribbled past the on-rushing Mario Muscat to shoot towards a empty net. Vittoriosa finally found the back of the net on the 77th minute when off a pass by Gilbert Martin, Marce- lo Pereira beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia from close range to make the final score 5-1. The match did not take long to get the attention of the fans as Mosta were reduced to ten men just after eleven minutes of play. Sliema's Stanley Ohawuchi was on a good run when he was brought down by Tyrone Farrugia. The Mosta de- fender was immediately shown the red card by referee Marco Borg as he had stopped a clear scoring op- portunity. Sliema did not have long to take advantage of playing with the ex- tra man as just eight minutes later Admir Vladavic was sent off af- ter he received his second yellow card. Sliema took the lead on the 32nd minute. Off a freekick by Trevor Cilia, Stanley Ohawuchi headed the ball past goalkeeper Omar Borg. Mosta managed to score the equaliser on the 53rd minute when off a freekick by Antonio Carrozza, Manolito Micallef headed the ball past goalkeeper Henry Bonello.
