Qormi took the lead as early as the fifth minute. Off a cross by Leighton Grech, Jorge Pereira da Silva's head- er hit the woodwork, but off the re- bound Jorge Pereira made sure he beat goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic to give Qormi the lead. Qormi doubled their lead on the 15th minute. Triston Caruana's powerful shot from outside the area left no chance for Rabat's goalkeep- er. Qormi made sure they would take home all the points on the 17th minute when they made it 3-0. Ro- derick Bajada served Jonathan Bon- din who then went on to score from close range. Rabat finally reduced Qormi's lead on the 54th minute when Diego Carillo's shot beat goalkeeper Mat- thew Farrugia. The BOV Player of the Match was awarded to Jorge Pereira da Silva. In the other match, Naxxar reg- istered an important 1-0 victory against Tarxien Rainbows. This vic- tory moved Naxxar closer to secur- ing their Premier League status. The winning goal arrived thanks to Raimi Bakare's goal on the 23rd minute. The BOV Player of the Match was awarded to Victor Bellia.
