Rekindling a
50-year-old
memory
VALLETTA'S most popular restau-
rant, the Caffé Cordina, established
in 1837, has decorated its façade with
Maltese flags, rekindling memories of
how owner Joe Cordina's father had
himself decorated the caffé on 21 Sep-
tember, 1964.
"The day Malta gained its Independ-
ence in 1964 was naturally a very im-
portant and successful step for Malta.
Fifty years later, we wanted to deco-
rate the caffé in the same way my fa-
ther did," Cordina said.
