Birkirkara went close to scoring just four minutes into the match when El- linton Antonio Costa Morais had his powerful shot saved by goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia. Farrugia performed a great save in the 39th minute off a header by Matheus Bissi who got delivery of the ball off a corner shot by Ellinton An- tonio Costa Morais. Birkirkara finally managed to break down Qormi in the 83rd minute. From a counter-attack, Rafael Ledesma served Ryan Camen- zuli who then saw his shot from just outside the area beat goalkeeper Far- rugia. Birkirkara made sure they would collect all three points two minutes into added time when they doubled their lead. Rafael Ledesma received a precise pass from Ellinton Antonio Costa Morais before beating Farrugia with his shot. With this victory, Birkirkara tem- porarily move into second ahead of Mosta and Balzan, who however have a game in hand. For Pieta, this was their fourth defeat in five matches. Pieta created the first chance in front of goal when in the 33rd minute Claudio Frances served Rafael Xavier, whose shot was saved by goalkeeper Henry Bonel- lo. Hibernians had a great chance to score but Jackson Lima's shot was turned into a corner by goal- keeper David Cassar. Hibernians missed another chance to score when Edison Luis dos Santos shot hit the crossbar. In the final minute of the first half, Hibernians managed to take the lead, when, off a cross by Edi- son Luis dos Santos, Jorge Pereira da Silva headed the ball past goal- keeper David Cassar. In the 57th minute, Hibernians doubled their lead. Jorge Pereira da Silva exchanged the ball with Edison Luis dos Santos before beating Cassar with his shot. Hibernians controlled the match and in the 64th minute they scored another to make the tally 3-0, with Clayton Failla's powerful shot leaving no chance for goalkeeper David Cassar. Pieta managed to reduce Hi- bernians' lead when in the 80th minute, thanks to a defensive er- ror, Rafael Xavier's shot beat goal- keeper Henry Bonello.
