NOVEMBER 14-16 Il-Kulur tal-Perlini To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Maltese dramatist Ġuże Chetcuti (1914-2006), Talenti, in collaboration with the Manoel Theatre, present the Maltese play 'Il-Kuluri tal-Perlini' written and directed by Żep Camilleri, an adaptation of Ġuże Chetcuti's play 'Imħuħ Morda'. NOVEMBER 17-22 Ziguzajg Annual festival of performing arts aimed at children and young adults, taking place over various venues in Valletta. Similar to previous years the Festival will present an eclectic programme of international performances and commissioned work to thousands of Maltese children, young people and their families. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL NOVEMBER 7 Maltese Confabulations Multidisciplinary exhibition by German artist Bettina Hustchek at Blitz, St Lucy Street, Valletta. Fragments of Maltese reality are interwoven in the various narrations, forming the basis for artistic storytelling and presenting a body of work that is to be understood simultaneously, not chronologically. UNTIL NOVEMBER 9 WHAT'S ON WHAT'S ON TODAY Festa Laring Festival of oranges at the Gnien Pawlu Boffa, Paola from 10:00 to 18:00. Picking up on the historical connection between Paola and oranges – the town was founded by Grand Master Fra Ant. De Paule, who planted a large number of orange trees in the locality – the event will feature food stalls, music and re-enactment. Youth Fest Festival dedicate to youths in Attard organised by the Attard Local Council at the Attard Pjazza from 10:00 onwards. Featuring workshops, discussions, games and much more. All this is prepared and organised by a number of youth groups from Attard. The event will finish with a concert starting at 19:00. Featuring: L-Aħwa Bezzina, Footprints, The Madhatters, RiSE, Robert & Michael, Destiny and more. In Guardia Parade Historical re-enactment at St John's Cavalier in Birgu at 11:00. The re-enactment portrays the inspection of the St. John's Cavalier in the town of Birgu and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St John in charge of military affairs. Tickets are at €7 (adults) and €3 (children and students). Malta Comics and Pop Culture Expo Comic book and pop culture convention taking place at the Malta Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. During the Expo, visitors will be able to attend panels or even meet up with known TV and film personalities. The guest line-up includes Dirk Benedict ('Faceman' from The A-Team), Robert Picardo (The Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager) and Sylvester McCoy (the 7th Dr Who and Radagast the Brown from The Hobbit). Maltese-British actor Joseph Gatt will also be joining the fray. Malta Cultural Institute November Concert Concert by the University of Malta – Junior College Orchestra at Le Meridien, St Julian's Hotel at 19:00. Led by Mro. Manoel Pirotta, with programme coordination and presentation by Marie Therese Vassallo. The concert will be accompanied by an exhibition of Ceramic works by Nadya Anne Mangion.
